Open Source Models and Tools

The ERA5-Processor v1.0.0 software generates weather files in the EnergyPlus Weather (EPW) format for forcing various urban physics model software such as the Vertical City Weather Generator (VCWG). ERA5-Processor is a bot programmed to automatically download and process information from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) Reanalysis v5 (ERA5) data product. It consists of two sub-modules: the Veracious Weather File Processor (VWFP) and the Virtuous Weather File Bot (VWFB) software. The ERA5-Processor can generate an EPW file for any year and location inside the spatio-temporal domain of the ERA5 data product. The program is accessible open-source on Github with full documentation.
